Elaine Heroux has been in private practice since 1997. She works with adults of all ages and offers traditional psychotherapy as well as Mind Bodytherapies using dreams, movement and expressive arts.
She has experience working with a variety of populations including veterans, women and the elderly as well as those facing major life transitions such as marriage and divorce, loss and death. She uses Cognitive Behavioral and Supportive therapies as part of the traditional psychotherapy. She will support you through depression, anxiety, grief and other symptoms that present themselves during difficult times. She believes that these symptoms can bring hope and change moving forward. She will also help you identify those emotions which you may have been carrying for most of your life.
Elaine has been interested in Jungian thought and Mind Body therapy since 1999. She will help you connect your emotions and feelings to your body which is essential for long-term healing. She encourages dream work, creative movement, writing and art to help you express deep seated feelings for which there are no words.
She believes in the Inner Way for each person, meaning that it's not the circumstances that present themselves in our lives that are the problem, it's the way we perceive them, our early belief system and the actions that we take or fail to take.
